The Opportunity :

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contribute with the achievement of Business Plan targets for Latin America, ensuring profitable growth aligned with QBE Re’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage a strategic client’s pipeline, strengthening relationships and improving visibility of broker portfolios and new business opportunities.
  • Enhance QBE Re’s market presence and reputation with brokers, business introducers, and industry bodies.
  • Identify and manage cross-selling opportunities, leveraging forums and ad-hoc initiatives.
  • Analyze and share MI data to influence business decisions and support the Broker Distribution/Development plan.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and utilize e-trading platforms to ensure delivery of business plans and overcome barriers to growth.
  • Participate in product development, including input on IT platforms and global product wordings.
  • Promote QBE Re internally and externally, contributing to a culture of opportunity and knowledge sharing.
  • Communicate product changes and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of trading platforms and market dynamics, demonstrating awareness of market cycles.


About you:

Preferred Competencies/Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience writing reinsurance treaties in Central America.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent business acumen and organizational ability.
  • Deep understanding of broker & cedents networks and product lines.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and collaborative mindset.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry, including regulatory frameworks.
  • Broad and deep understanding of the Central America markets and its key drivers.
