Laboratory Pre-Analytical Services Operations Supervisor

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of the LPS department to ensure the successful implementation of the Global Laboratory or Pre-Analytical Services strategy, structures, processes, and metrics to deliver outstanding customer satisfaction.

In more details, you will

Workload/Capacity Management: Responsible for planning and forecasting day-to-day and future workload resource demands in Sample Services to maximize production efficiency and to ensure samples are processed in accordance to business expectations.

  • Review daily and future workload requirements to determine daily resource needs and

  • Create daily production schedules and communicate assignments among all involved parties.

  • Monitor and track overall work activity and makes adjustments as needed.

  • Ensure that normal and overtime costs are in alignment with stated goals.

Performance Metrics: Assist and support management in the development and implementation of global processes and procedures, and performance metrics.

  • Participate in the Specimen Management or Laboratory Pre-Analytical Services tasks related to strategy, planning, budgeting

  • Ensure new processes are developed and monitored

  • Track, monitor, and report metrics in the agreed upon timelines

Process Excellence: Instills a culture of continuous improvement, quality and productivity

  • Propose innovative ideas to improve the processes in place

  • Lead local PEx and non-PEx Projects

Customer management: Ensures internal customers satisfaction and participates in business development/client facing activities

  • Ensure all service failures are identified, tracked and resolved in a timely manner. Take preventative action to ensure that the same service failure(s) does not occur again.

  • Monitor, track, manage and ensure resolution of all customer complaints, issues and concerns.

Finance: Monitors expenses and communicates to Management budget variances

Information sharing and adherence to procedures: Effective and timely adherence to management communications, meetings and procedures.

What we’re looking for 

LPS Operations Supervisors are the most successful at Labcorp with: 

  • Direct or indirect team supervision experience

  • Experience in Lean Management/Process Improvement

  • Able to work in a team as well as independently

  • Dynamic attitude and ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to take up challenges

  • Strong detail orientation

  • Organizational skills

  • Ability to use several software packages i.e. Word, Excel, Access

  • Fluency in English and French
