The Kraft Heinz Company is looking for a Laboratory Manager to manage the microbiology, chemistry, and receiving material labs within CFI. The Laboratory Manager will lead the lab teams to ensure accurate result analysis with the support of management staff. They will follow the job descriptions related to this role.
The Laboratory Manager coaches and develops their team by serving as a leadership coach and resource, and spends floor time gathering information on quality systems and improvements.
Responsibilities
Provide management and leadership to deliver business results and operational improvements.
Be accountable for microbiological and chemical analyses, monitoring, and evaluation.
Determine microbiological, chemical, and process laboratory analysis methods.
Follow up on, revise, and validate analysis methods.
Provide SOP training for microbiology, chemistry, and receiving laboratories.
Lead and follow accredited external laboratory analysis processes according to plan.
Oversee purchasing processes for laboratory consumables for microbiology, chemistry, and receiving labs.
Manage microbiology and chemistry approvals and communicate results for product release.
Achieve safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, and employee engagement objectives through individual and team contributions.
Manage the pest control process within Kraft Heinz Egypt: follow up with the pest control company, ensure appropriate pest control risk assessments and mitigation actions are in place, and conduct monthly review meetings to monitor KPIs.
Be accountable for incoming materials inspection (RM & PM) and share results appropriately.
Handle out-of-specification material investigations and outcomes with SQA.
Ensure the site has the correct specifications for all incoming materials and packaging materials, including shade cards and reference samples.
Provide direction, leadership, development, and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments, and continuous improvement projects.
Develop, promote, and support continuous improvement and cross-functional initiatives.
Ensure product and workplace quality by following all procedures and guidelines; comply with all established GMP, GLP, KHMS, GR, and housekeeping responsibilities.
Be responsible for knowledge transfer to associates to create a succession plan and achieve self-sufficiency in daily operations.
Build a network with the regional team and align on technology best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Agriculture, or Pharmacy.
At least 7 years of experience in lab positions (preferably in FMCG).
Strong knowledge of quality processes in FMCGs.
Proven track record in food chemistry, food microbiology, and food hazard management for high- and low-risk foods.
Auditing and evaluation skills.
Experience managing teams of 10+ people.
Training in ISO 17025, GMP, GLP, pest control, HACCP and food safety standards, and ISO 22000 Lead Auditor.
Excellent command of both spoken and written Arabic and English.
