In this highly visible role, you will lead the operational success of our lab, support colleagues and customers with your expertise, and help shape how our customers experience our technology. You’ll play a key part in driving a safe, efficient, high‑performance laboratory environment, while developing your team and contributing to commercial strategy and customer satisfaction.
You will:
Ensure safe, efficient operations for all teams using the laboratory, following company policies and lab guidelines.
Inspire your team with clear guidance, integrity, and a growth mindset.
Lead and develop technical talent: set objectives, create development plans, and champion high performance.
Coordinate laboratory activities, scheduling, systems, and resources for maximum efficiency.
Implement business strategy and offer process and workflow improvement recommendations.
Support customers through technical expertise, helping resolve sample prep, calibration, validation, and applications issues virtually or onsite.
Deliver technical presentations, contribute to value propositions, maintain CRM data, and support customers in their buying journey.
Provide sample analysis and clear written/oral reports for proof‑of‑concept and method development studies.
Demonstrate system usage (remote, onsite, or at Malvern Panalytical facilities).
Provide training and applications expertise to new and existing customers.
Travel up to 15% overnight within the US.
To be successful, you have:
MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or related scientific discipline.
At least 5 years of direct laboratory experience in an academic or industrial R&D environment.
Experience leading teams in a lab or technical setting.
Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
US work authorization (required).
Willingness to relocate to Westborough, MA.
Great to have:
Industrial certifications.
Experience with small‑molecule pharmaceuticals.
Basic service aptitude for customer demonstrations.
Experience in technical/commercial or sales support roles.
Experience in quality control/assurance environments.
Familiarity with Malvern Panalytical technologies (laser diffraction, XRD, etc.)—preferred but not required.
Calm, diplomatic, ethical communication with customers and colleagues.
Flexibility with changing demands and priorities.
