Hiring Unit:
Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology - Dr. McCaffrey's Lab

Position Summary:

  • Perform mouse genotyping using PCR-based methods and gel electrophoresis.
  • Digest tissue samples and prepare DNA for analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of genotyping results.
  • Communicate results clearly and promptly to multiple lab members.
  • Ensure proper sample handling, labeling, and tracking to avoid errors.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to coordinate genotyping schedules and priorities.
  • Uphold laboratory standards for safety, reproducibility, and data integrity.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Applicants must hold a BSc or be enrolled in a BSc program at McGill.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Working knowledge computer software including Excel and Word.
  • Flexible work schedule is required.
  • Must be accepted into the Work Study Program
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience with molecular biology techniques preferred.
