Purpose:

The Key Accounts Marketing Manager is responsible for leading strategic marketing initiatives that support Athene’s Financial Institutions Channel and Sales teams for our most important client accounts. This individual will drive ideation, planning, and execution of marketing strategies that strengthen relationships with key distribution partners, increase product adoption, and enhance engagement at these key firms.
We are seeking a self-starter with exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of the financial services industry and sales channels, and a proven ability to collaborate across teams. This role requires strategic thinking and hands-on execution to activate key firms, advance sales goals, and deliver meaningful marketing results.
The role will serve as the primary marketing contact for key clients—anticipating needs, coordinating across internal Marketing and Sales teams, ensuring timely deliverables, and helping clients achieve shared success with Athene.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Marketing on key account matters, maintaining regular communication with internal and external partners regarding marketing strategy and firm support.

  • Proactively gather marketing requirements from assigned accounts and partner with cross-functional teams to forecast resource needs, identify implications, and develop solutions that meet partner expectations.

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive channel sales and firm goals/objectives, including quarterly meetings, product launches, onboarding initiatives, marketing programs, conference support, sales collateral, training materials, and presentations.

  • Monitor firm KPIs and key channel dynamics to uncover insights and opportunities that increase market share, optimize product mix, and advance business objectives.

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with Sales partners, channel leaders and key clients by managing communication effectively, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring alignment on strategic priorities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality marketing initiatives on time and within budget.

  • Provide regular updates on channel performance, goals, and active initiatives to key stakeholders across Sales and Marketing.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in insurance or financial services marketing, sales, relationship management, or a related business area.

  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing best practices and the use of data and insights to inform effective strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build business cases and deliver compelling presentations.

  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, multitask, and execute deliverables on time and within budget.

  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to identify challenges, assess options, and develop strategic solutions.

  • Skilled collaborator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to listen actively, present persuasively, and foster strong relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities.

  • Growth-oriented mindset with an eagerness to expand partnerships and drive results.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 5%).
