Key Account Manager

(Internal Job Title: Associate Manager, Sales Account Management)

Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Key Account Manager to join our team in Erkrath, Germany. This role is pivotal in managing leading Discounter customers within the German trade, including analysis, presentation of products, and trade term negotiations.


About the Role: As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing the German headquarters of assigned customers (e.g., Lidl & Norma) and supporting international purchasing cooperation at the European level. You will develop and implement strategic and operational customer plans, achieve sales, profit, and market share targets, and successfully implement listing and marketing goals.


About the Team: You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Customer Marketing, and Finance to ensure alignment with national and customer-specific objectives.



Responsibilities:

  • Manage the German headquarters of assigned customers and support international purchasing cooperation.

  • Develop and implement strategic and operational customer plans.

  • Achieve sales, profit, and market share targets.

  • Prepare and conduct annual negotiations autonomously.

  • Analyze potential within the customer through continuous 4P management.

  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams.

  • Report regularly and proactively on results and progress.

  • Oversee the quality and relevance of insights and data provided by Associates.



Experience You’ll Bring:

  • Degree level education or equivalent, with an emphasis on Sales & Marketing.

  • 3-5 years of Key Account experience, preferably in Discount.

  • Understanding and knowledge of the German & European retail environment.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to drive for results with a high degree of initiative and speed.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Fluent in English and German.

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office.
