About the Role:
The Director, Growth is responsible for the full client acquisition experience including paid channels, analytics, and revenue growth of the company. Leading our growth and performance marketing channels, you will be responsible for driving our customer acquisition strategy across all of our paid channels, including social, search, CRO, SEO, and any channel expansion. This role will also act as an advisor in the growth of new businesslines, from provider marketing to B2B2C initiatives. In partnership with the Head of Core Product, this role will champion an optimized and seamless client experience – from first touch to first visit – and shape the vision for growth.
Management Responsibilities:
- Develops, coordinates, and implements systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

- Build and manage a high-performing team, including hiring, training, and development.
- Provide leadership to the team, including setting goals, providing guidance, and ensuring the team's overall success.
- Set performance expectations and goals for team members. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address performance issues.
- Identify skill gaps within the team and develop strategies for filling those gaps. Support employee development through training, mentoring, and coaching. Identify high-potential employees and create succession plans.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Drive acquisitions through key paid media channels (SEM, SEO, Paid Social, CTV, CRO, SEO, CRO)
- Manage external partners to drive channel performance and management
- Own daily, weekly, and monthly roadmap, optimizations, and reporting on the health of business
- Establish a clear vision and strategy to test-and-learn new tactics and channels to expand the reach of the business
- Represent the Growth Function at the executive level, presenting weekly business updates and driving the vision for future strategic opportunities
- Partner cross-functionally with Business Operations, Product, and RCM teams to develop channel forecasts and budget recommendations, adjusting strategies as new insights, market conditions, and opportunities arise
- Partner with the Head of Product on the largest opportunities for impact across Growth Marketing, Growth Product, and Data engineering
- Channel responsibilities: develop core channels (social, search, and CTV) and diversify channel mix expanding into new demand channels
- Partner with content/product/brand teams on product development including creative development, landing page creation, optimization/conversion rate optimization
- Partner with Product and Talent Acquisition to measure and understand Octave’s consumer and employer funnels, as well as identify opportunities for optimization for provider marketing
- Build a culture of experimentation, optimizing growth levers to improve performance throughout the funnel, including A/B tests, creative and messaging tests, and exploring new growth channels
- Partner with the content and brand teams to bring Octave’s brand to market consistently and cohesively across all audiences and touchpoints
- Build, coach, and grow a high performing growth marketing team that elevates those around you
- Ensure innovation, prioritization and detailed execution of the performance marketing and at every step of the funnel
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in mid-funnel nurture and direct-response marketing
- Passionate about consumer insights, analytics
- Exceptional relationship management and communication skills — able to build trust, influence stakeholders, and drive clarity
- Analytical and operational mindset — comfortable working in data, defining KPIs, and connecting insights to execution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer 6+ years of experience leading growth D2C growth function
- Prior Healthcare experience is preferred
- Experience solving complex user journeys in a regulated space
- Proven expertise in search, paid social, and other DR channels
- Strong leader with proven experience in leading teams, effective planning and cross functional collaboration

Starting pay for qualified applicants will depend on a combination of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is set forth below and this range may be modified in the future.
The salary range for Zone 1 (all states, excluding those in Zone 2 or Zone 3, and D.C.) is.. $178,300 - $204,500."
The salary range for zone 2 (CO, HI, MD, RI) is $196,100 - $220,100.
The salary range for zone 3 (AK, CA, CT, MA, NJ, NY, WA) is $205,000 - $220,100.
All zones are eligible for equity in the form of stock options, plus target bonus incentives based on performance.
