Job Summary: The Director of Sales at JW Marriott Atlanta Downtown leads the hotel’s sales strategy, driving group, transient, and catering revenue in alignment with the expectations of the JW Marriott brand and Stonebridge. This role is responsible for building high-level client relationships, mentoring a high-performing sales team, and positioning the property as a premier destination for luxury business and social travelers in the Atlanta market.
Essential Functions and Duties:
• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan that delivers revenue growth across all segments.
• Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to exceed individual and team-based revenue targets, ensuring a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Cultivate relationships with key corporate, group, and third-party accounts to generate new business and secure repeat high-value clients.
• Represent the hotel at sales calls, client events, and industry trade shows to promote visibility and secure market share within the luxury segment.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management and Marketing to ensure rate integrity, strategic pricing, and brand-aligned promotions.
• Maintain an active pipeline of group and event business through direct sales, prospecting, and conversion efforts.
• Oversee RFP responses, contract negotiations, and detailed coordination for complex group bookings and high-profile events.
• Support the execution of site visits, pre-conference meetings, and client entertainment with a JW-level service approach.
• Ensure all Marriott brand sales tools, systems, and procedures are consistently followed, including CI/TY, GXP, and MARSHA.
• Analyze market trends, competitor performance, and booking pace to adjust sales strategies in real time.
• Partner with the General Manager, Catering, and Events teams to deliver seamless, elevated experiences for clients and guests.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of hotel sales leadership experience, preferably within a luxury or full-service Marriott property.
• Proven success managing corporate, group, and catering segments with strong revenue performance.
• Expertise in Marriott systems including CI/TY, GXP, MARSHA, and OneSource.
• Strong understanding of luxury service expectations, contract negotiation, and event detailing.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
• Ability to lead a sales team with professionalism, clarity, and a commitment to brand values.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic sales planning.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, high-profile accounts, and time-sensitive opportunities with grace and attention to detail.
Work Environment:
• This is a full-time, on-property leadership role requiring a regular presence at JW Marriott Atlanta Downtown.
• Work is performed in a professional office environment with regular time spent in meeting spaces, guest areas, and off-site sales activities.
• Frequent client interaction, internal team collaboration, and external networking are required.
• Must be available to attend evening functions, travel locally or regionally for client meetings, and adapt to a flexible schedule based on business needs.
