About the role

We are looking for a Junior Vision System Engineer to contribute to Color Tools software and Image Processing as part of the Color and Imaging team.

In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers to investigate and implement algorithms that:

  • Improve the fidelity of scanned copies compared to the original content

  • Automatically assess print quality for HP Large Format Printers

  • Enable standardized evaluation of color attributes such as color difference, color gamut (volume), repeatability, and accuracy

You will contribute to the development and maintenance of software tools related to image processing and color evaluation, gaining hands-on experience in a real-world R&D environment.

A mentor will support your onboarding and professional development, helping you ramp up technically, understand the organization, and grow within the team.

About you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of professional experience (or equivalent hands-on experience) in software development
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Practical experience with Python development, including common libraries such as:
    • NumPy, SciPy, pandas, plotly
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Software design principles
    • Writing and maintaining unit tests
    • C++ programming
  • Strong mathematical foundation, including:
    • Algebra
    • Vector and matrix operations
    • Descriptive statistics
  • Experience using Git for version control and familiarity with GitHub workflows
  • Basic knowledge or strong interest in:
    • Image Processing
    • Computer Vision
    • Color Science fundamentals (e.g. color spaces, color conversions)
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Curious, proactive, and motivated to learn and propose new ideas
