FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

Your role

You will join a team made out of 5 traders and focusing essentially on ING’s Exchange Traded Products (ETP) offered to individual investors, issuance and market making of ING’s Equity Securitised Derivatives as well as tailored employee inventives solutions for Corporate clients. You will participate in the day to day of a market making desk focusing mainly on Equity Linked Derivatives, manage the risk in the trading portfolio and contribute to the growth of ING’s Investment Products for retail and corporate clients in Europe.

The Amsterdam based ETP trading desk is part of the broader ING Equity Derivative franchise, with trading presence in London as well. The franchise is responsible for the structuring, packaging and trading of all linear and non-linear equity derivatives based products, including secondary market services. Investors & Corporate clients come to us for Shares, ETFs, (leveraged) Exchange Traded Products (e.g. Sprinters/Turbos or warrants), structured investments (e.g. Structured Notes), ruled based equity linked strategies and tailored solutions including OTC derivatives, hedging, monetization, stock option incentives schemes and strategic equity transactions.

Your key responsibilities

Manage market risks

  • Supervise trading books and adjust positions when required while optimizing revenue
  • Closely follow the risk reports and ensure to remain within the limits at any time
  • Maintain a high focus on the different markets and adjust risk positioning accordingly in close collaboration with the rest of the Equity Derivative team

Market Making in Exchange Traded Products

  • Continuous quoting of Sprinters and other listed derivatives in various marketplaces, balancing uninterrupted service (from 8:00 till 22:00 CET) to our clients with the need to contain the risks and exposures that result from this activity
  • Supervise daily issuing process for sprinters & warrants in the various markets in close collaboration with our sales workforce, executing various operational tasks such as corporate actions, life-cycle events and portfolio maintenance
  • Develop, test and maintain algorithmic based executions and trading strategies for optimal risk management

Manage ING’s equity securitised derivatives portfolio

  • Supervise the primary and secondary market of Equity linked notes and warrants
  • Manage the related risk, funding and liquidity exposures in close collaboration with the Equity Derivatives and XVA desks in London

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for individuals who are extremely driven and ambitious. Can challenge constructively, take ownership of decisions, and remain calm and decisive under pressure, while operating as a reliable and respectful team member.

As an ETP trader you will also need:

  • a master degree in Finance, Economics or Applied Sciences
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Financial Markets, preferable in the Equity Derivatives business or Exchange Traded Products
  • to be fluent in English
  • good knowledge of Equity Derivatives Products and their hedging implications in the market
  • (preferably) experience in systematic or algo trading 
  • flexibility in your working hours to ensure desk continuity (we operate as one team with morning, normal and evening shifts) 
  • the ability to take risk decisions under pressure and maintain the highest level of accuracy in performing the relevant tasks
  • to have a proactive behaviour with perpetual energy and drive to improve performance
  • to be an effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • (ideally) to have coding (Python, VBA, KDB etc) skills
