We are strengthening our buying and supplier management capability and are looking for an early‑career professional to support end‑to‑end sourcing activity across a variety of categories. In this role, you will help deliver compliant, value‑for‑money outcomes while contributing to a positive stakeholder experience. You will gain hands‑on learning through structured mentoring, guided practice, and access to formal development opportunities—including support toward CIPS qualifications where appropriate.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver light‑touch sourcing activity, including competitive quotes and proposal evaluations, supporting negotiations to achieve value, quality, and risk control.
Support supplier due diligence (financial, information security, ESG) and ensure accurate onboarding in core systems.
Manage purchase‑to‑pay tasks such as raising/receipting POs, maintaining catalogues, and promoting compliance with preferred suppliers and contracts.
Maintain accurate spend and contract data; create simple dashboards and highlight saving or leakage opportunities.
Draft and maintain standard procurement documents (NDAs, SoWs, change notes) and track key obligations and milestones.
Act as a first point of contact for routine procurement queries, escalating appropriately and helping colleagues follow the correct buying process.
Adhere to Procurement policy, governance, and audit requirements to support safe, fair, and compliant purchasing.
Contribute to process and template improvements that simplify and enhance the buying experience.
Foundational procurement/commercial experience gained through purchasing admin, category support, supplier management, finance/AP, supply chain, commercial contracts, internship, or placement.
Working knowledge of the buying lifecycle, from need definition to sourcing, contracting, PO management, and supplier performance.
Strong numeracy and basic Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) to analyse spend and present insights clearly.
Organised and detail‑focused, maintaining accurate trackers, clean records, and meeting deadlines.
Effective communicator with the ability to build rapport, ask good questions, and work constructively with stakeholders and suppliers.
Good judgement and integrity, knowing when to escalate and following governance and confidentiality requirements.
Desirable
Experience with e‑sourcing or P2P tools (e.g., Coupa, SAP Ariba, Workday, Jaggaer).
Exposure to regulated or financial‑services environments, third‑party risk or operational resilience.
Working toward or motivated to begin CIPS Level 3–4 (supported subject to policy)
