Junior Data Engineer

The amount of data in the NN Digital Hub team is vast and increasing exponentially. These big, fast-growing volumes of data can only be used effectively when transformed into information that is correct, accurate, appropriate, complete, timely, and consistent. That is why we are hiring a Junior Data Engineer in Czechia now.

Your impact at NN 

The mission you will join is all about supporting the development of a standardized data platform for the Digital Hub team, with ready-to-use reporting and analysis data, providing us with one single source of truth. This tool is developed on NN Microsoft Azure Cloud broader platform.

The tasks you will perform

  • Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines for financial and HR data.

  • Help with testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting data integrations together with senior colleagues.

  • Assist with small improvements and updates to existing data interfaces and systems.

  • Take part in testing activities (including UAT) to ensure smooth releases.

  • Work with Azure DevOps (code, pipelines, documentation).

  • Follow security, data governance, and compliance standards.

  • Learn how data flows work across financial and HR systems in practice.

The knowledge and experience you bring

  • Basic knowledge of tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, and Artifactory.

  • Familiarity with at least one of the following platforms: Databricks, Spark, Power BI, Azure, or AWS.

  • Basic programming skills in SQL and Python.

  • Understanding of Azure cloud services, such as Azure Data Factory, Functions, Web Apps, SQL Database, Search, Virtual Machines, Databricks, or Kubernetes.

  • Basic understanding of ETL concepts, including incremental loads, surrogate keys, SCD (Slowly Changing Dimensions), streaming, and event-driven processing.

  • Communication with various technical and non-technical stakeholders in English comes naturally to you.

The selection process usually includes two interview rounds, most often online. If an in-person meeting is needed, we’ll let you know in advance. In the first round, you’ll meet Petra and the Hiring Manager. The second round typically involves key stakeholders, often colleagues from our headquarters in the Netherlands.
