Position Highlights
The Multnomah County Circuit Court is hiring a Central Accounting Services Clerk (Judicial Accounting Clerk).
In this role…
You will be part of the unit that processes all daily accounts receivables for the court as taken by court cashiers, as well as opening, sorting, processing, and controlling incoming financial mail. This work unit handles thousands of mail payments per month for violations, civil, and criminal case types. The unit also digitizes this mail and uploads it into the courts case management system.
In this position you will finalize accounts receivable daily to ensure payments have been credited to the proper account and deposited to the bank. You will also address discrepancies with daily deposits, and interact with cashiers, lead workers, supervisors and Oregon Judicial Department’s Business and Fiscal Services Division (BFSD) to resolve discrepancies and complex accounting questions. Most of these processes are in electronic format that will use computer applications to perform most of the accounts receivable duties.
You will act as the conduit for centralized state financials and local court department(s) on financial matters, audit reports on court financials, and answer questions on complex financials for cases or bail. This position will also perform accounts payable functions for the court.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent
AND
At least three (3) or more years’ experience in cash receipting and control, financial reporting, collections and/or banking financial experience.
OR
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Parking
Multnomah County Circuit Court does not provide parking for the central courthouse or justice center staff. Daily parking is available across SW 1st St from the central courthouse (monthly parking is limited). Another option is the Douglas Garage at 1835 S River Dr, Portland, OR 97204. Parking cost is $165/month pretax and is a half-mile from the courthouse and justice center.
