About the role
We are looking for JP Legal Counsel role who will be focusing on corporate legal affairs management. This role will require proficiency in Japanese and Chinese, and business-level English is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Liaise and give accurate legal direction regularly with our global colleagues on their legal
requirements for their commercial activities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and other legal documents, primarily
related to sales, vendors, partners, licensing, and marketing. The work will be mainly
conducted in Japanese, with occasional involvement in Mandarin Chinese and English
contracts.
- Apply and streamline corporate legal procedure and process.
- Conduct research on legal issues related to AdTech or/and MarTech business that may
impact company.
- Work allocation by language: 60-70% for Chinese and English; 30-40% for Japanese.
- Other tasks or projects as directed by Legal Manager
About you
[Essential]
- Be open-minded, ambitious; and communicate directly.
- Bachelor of Law degree is required (LL.B).
- Fluent in both Japanese, Chinese. JLPT N1 or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 1 year working experience in law firm or as in-house legal.
- Desire to learn and work in AdTech or/and MarTech industry, with willingness to stay updated on changing regulations and industry trends.
[Nice to have]
- Japan and/or US bar certificate.
- Japan local experience (either study or work); familiar with Japanese culture.
- Experience in Data Compliance, M&A or IP.
- Working experience in advertising or/and software industry.
