The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview

SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)
Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of computer systems, network infrastructure, and IP-based phone systems. Works collaboratively with other IT teams to plan, implement, and maintain systems that support organizational operations. The role includes identifying and automating repetitive tasks, developing scripts to streamline daily operations, and applying modern tools and emerging AI-assisted solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:
Associate’s degree or 2 years relevant hands-on experience as outlined in the job description.

Experience:
Two or more years of experience supporting Windows-based systems, virtual desktop environments, and network-connected infrastructure. Experience in system administration, scripting or automation for recurring tasks, and basic support of IP-based phone systems. Hands on experience with endpoint virtualization and management tools.

Other Credentials:
Industry certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, or CompTIA preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Primary Skills – (Core Focus):

  • Administration and maintenance of Windows and VDI environments
  • Use of scripting or automation tools to support daily operations
  • Troubleshooting of software, hardware, and connectivity issues
  • Configuration and basic support of IP-based phone systems
  • Effective communication and coordination within technical teams

Additional Skills – Supporting Infrastructure:

  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix)
  • Familiarity with endpoint management, patching, and deployment tools
  • Understanding of network fundamentals and security principles
  • Ability to document procedures and follow established standards
  • Focus on process improvement and service reliability

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supports installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and infrastructure.
  • Develops and uses scripts or automation processes to streamline recurring administrative tasks.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with desktops, VDI, Thin/Zero clients, Macs, and IP-based phones.
  • Provides support for on-site rollouts, upgrades, and equipment installations.
  • Assists with the creation, testing, and deployment of system and VDI images.
  • Apply updates and patches in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Documents configurations, updates, and troubleshooting steps accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participates in testing and implementation of tools or processes that enhance system stability or efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with end users and internal teams on service issues and project tasks.
  • Adheres to organizational policies, change control, and security standards, including HIPAA requirements.
  • Participates in departmental meetings, training, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provides on-site and remote support for end users and systems as required.
  • Participates in training and skill development to remain current with supported technologies.
  • Assists with internal documentation and contributes to team knowledge resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental objectives.
