Job Description – SME / Solution Architect (Cloud, DevOps & E2E Test Automation)
Position Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert cum Solution Architect with expertise in cloud platforms, DevOps, and end-to-end (E2E) test automation who can design scalable solutions across a hybrid, composable, multi-platform enterprise landscape. The ideal candidate has a strong background in architecture, automation frameworks, CI/CD, governance, test strategy, and multi-cloud engineering, with the ability to define measurable success criteria and drive alignment across technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Architecture for Composable & Hybrid Landscapes
Design solution and ensure with opportunity study and Business case ensures that the organisation has a clear, evidence-based understanding of the opportunity, risks, solution alternatives, financials, and projected value before committing to full project mobilisation.
•
Define architecture that supports modular, composable, scalable systems aligned with the as-is and to-be enterprise landscape.
•
Ensure new test automation and DevOps solutions are platform-agnostic, fit for multi-cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), multi-application, and hybrid setups.
•
Evaluate system compatibility considering security, GDPR, compliance, and integration constraints.
•
Work with enterprise architects to validate alignment with target architecture and future-state vision.
2. End-to-End Test Automation Strategy
•
Own the E2E automation roadmap, covering UI, API, data pipelines, SAP, backend services, and cloud workflows.
•
Define clear success metrics (execution reliability, coverage %, cycle-time reduction, defect leakage rate, ROI).
•
Architect reusable automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Tosca, UiPath, and others.
•
Ensure automation supports multi-OPCO versioning, test data generation, and self-healing test scripts leveraging AI-driven capabilities.
•
Establish governance for centralized test management, automation repository structures, and CI/CD-integrated execution models.
•
Ensure test environments are coherent, synchronized, and aligned across all interconnected systems.
3. DevOps, CI/CD & Platform Engineering
•
Implement robust CI/CD pipelines ensuring both build and test automation integration.
•
Introduce testing into pipelines (shift-left and shift-right) including:
o
E2E regression suites
o
Security and compliance gates
o
Data validation pipelines
•
Drive automation of test environments, test data provisioning, and environment resets.
4. Test Management –
• Standardize test management practices including:
o
Requirement traceability
o
Central reporting dashboards
o
Unified execution and scheduling control
•
Produce consolidated reporting across OPCOs including:
o
DORA-aligned metrics
o
Release readiness
o
Automation ROI & platform adoption
•
Collaborate with legal, compliance, and security teams to ensure GDPR and enterprise risk alignment.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
•
15+ years of Work Experience
•
Strong expertise in cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) and composable architecture design.
•
Mastery of E2E automation frameworks: Playwright, Tosca, UiPath, Selenium, or equivalent.
•
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins.
•
Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, JavaScript/TypeScript, Next.js, cloud-native integrations.
•
Experience with multi-platform landscapes including SAP (SAP automation experience is a bonus).
•
Strong understanding of security, GDPR, and compliance impacts on automation.
Automation & Architecture Expectations

Ability to design automation suited for complex, hybrid, multi-vendor, multi-region footprints.

Experience mentoring teams ranging from QA engineers to cloud developers.
