IT -Sr Information Security Analyst

Cadence’s Information Security team is seeking an IT -Sr Information Security Analyst. As a member of the Network Security team, this role proactively allows to manage and monitor Cadence’s infrastructure and cloud computing services for Network security and participates in any needed investigations and resolution for the enterprise. They will also be assisting with other security related tasks such as vulnerability management and administration, configuration, network audits, and deployment of security solutions.  The successful candidate for this position is a highly motivated individual with a strong IT administration background who excels in operating & deploying security technology and interacting with clients.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Sound understanding of Networking and Network Security Technologies.

  • Extensive Experience on Firewall, VPN Technologies

  • Hands on experience on Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint and Fortinet)

  • Detailed technical experience in the installation, configuration, and operation of high-end firewall appliances, ideally Palo Alto Networks® products

  • Hands on experience and technical understanding on Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager (SCM) and Logging services.

  • Strong understanding of core Internet protocols and applications.

  • Experience of Cisco’s Routers, Switches, AAA, TACACS

  • Research, evaluate, develop, and implement security solutions and standards following industry best practices.

  • Ensure that current and planned technical solutions are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives.

  • Operate the production environment security toolsets and services.

  • Work with other teams to design, develop, and implement Enterprise Security solutions in support of development, test, and production environments.

  • Provide technical security expertise and assistance to other IT and Business groups

  • Performs security audits and testing and evaluates system security configurations to ensure efficacy and compliance with policies and procedures

  • Support the information security operations team

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 6+ years of experience with security processes and solutions.

  • Strong understanding of current security threats, techniques, and landscape, as well as a dedicated and self-driven desire to research current and emerging threats in the information security landscape.

  • Deep knowledge in Firewalls /VPN Technologies.

  • Conceptual and practical understanding of IT Infrastructure designs, technologies, products, and services. This should include an understanding of Information Security concepts which apply to them.

  • Ability to work in a group setting and independently.

  • Ability to Deploy firewalls in AWS and Azure and work with Palo Alto VM series.

  • Experience with IT ticketing systems.

  • Good working knowledge in scripting language, Python, PowerShell, etc.

  • Experience with a Security Information Event Management

  • Strong understanding of Wireshark as well as Linux/UNIX and Windows based operating systems.

  • Knowledge of system log forensics (Syslog, Event Viewer)

  • Strong working knowledge of Network security concepts and technologies such as:

    • Experience in building and maintaining network security devices for WAN, LAN, VPN, & WIFI

    • Experience in Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco, Checkpoint)

    • Knowledge of network packet inspection and forensics

    • Knowledge of intrusion detection or prevention systems

    • Knowledge of TCP/IP, computer networking, routing and switching protocols

    • Knowledge of DNS, Internet policy enforcement, firewalls, Web content filtering

Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • SANS GIAC certifications

  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)

  • Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)

  • Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE)

  • CCNP Security

The annual salary range for California is $101,500 to $188,500. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
