Leidos currently has an opening for an IT Specialist Senior to support execution of projects on the SMIT contract and to be in Camp Lejeune, NC. The Senior IT Specialist will oversee the operation of network systems, architecture, and topology through deployment and oversight of network operations specialists. The qualified candidate will also perform asset scanning and logging of assets that have been delivered in accordance with established Government directives for both Lab and Production assets.
SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy. As a member of the Leidos team, you will assist in the delivery of the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.
Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform advanced systems installation, operation, integration, and troubleshooting to maintain optimum Information Technology (IT) system operations.
Design and oversee upgrades and new installations of IT systems and services ensuring coordination with Cyber Security Specialist.
Perform Tier III upgrades of networking systems, IT systems, and storage networking.
Perform Tier III troubleshooting, optimization, and performance management of Internet Protocol (IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and routing protocols.
Integrate enterprise, regional, and local IT systems ensuring current network operations are sustained or oversee their recovery.
Install, configure, and maintain networked printers, copiers, and multifunction devices (MFDs).
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues affecting printing services to minimize downtime.
Perform routine preventive maintenance, calibration, and updates (including firmware/software) on all printing equipment.
Monitor and manage printer supplies inventory (toner, paper, replacement parts), including procurement and cost control.
Implement and optimize printing workflows and processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste (e.g., implementing secure print solutions or duplex printing by default).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
US Citizen with an active DOD Secret clearance
Ten (10) years of IT experience including Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Network Address Translation (NAT).
Must possess an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification and one of the following certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification.
Solid understanding of basic networking principles and network printer configuration.
Proven experience in a printer support or managed print services (MPS) role.
