IT Software Developer II

Location: San José, Costa Rica

World Fuel supports global aviation and energy operations through modern, scalable technology. We are looking for an IT Software Developer II to join our engineering team in San José and help build tools and platforms that improve how developers work across the organization.

This is a hands‑on role for a mid‑level engineer who enjoys learning, collaborating, and working with modern development and cloud technologies in a global environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build developer productivity tools and internal platforms
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain APIs using TypeScript and GraphQL
  • Support CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and efficient software delivery
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to design scalable, secure solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with guidance from senior engineers
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared coding standards
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for consistent environments
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and best practice guides
  • Support developer onboarding and knowledge sharing across teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and automation initiatives

What You Have

  • 3+ years of experience in software development or software engineering
  • Experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, and API development
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern development workflows
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices
  • Understanding of containerization and basic security principles
  • Experience or foundational knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional, global teams
  • Strong communication skills and comfort writing technical documentation
