This role primarily focuses on negotiating contracts, processing purchase orders, evaluating data and supplier management.

Develop and execute global and regional strategies and sourcing plans that foster the highest level of commitment to continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, service and technology.
Deliver fact-based recommendations for adoption by Adient stakeholders.
Lead the end-to-end strategic sourcing process including commercial and contract negotiations with suppliers for the assigned categories.
Drive purchasing initiatives to deliver cost savings for assigned categories and geographies.
Identify and evaluate market changes and new technologies as responsible category buyer.
Effectively manage category supply base by establishing strong supplier relationships, managing complex negotiations, and overseeing a thorough selection process for key suppliers.
Serve as principal liaison representing Adient externally towards suppliers on all commercial and business relationship content, including but not limited to quality, cost, delivery, service, contracts, risks, and technology objectives.
Ensure supplier KPIs / SLAs are in place as applicable and needed to audit supplier performance, software compliance, and technical capabilities.
Provide thought leadership for continuous improvement. Drive clear and standardized specifications, processes, and procedures to deliver requirements for assigned categories.
Ensure expedient and compliant implementation of new contracts throughout the organization, including interfacing with stakeholders and the Legal team to review, refine, and negotiate commercial and legal agreements.
Communicate progress and results to senior management and stakeholder community.
Provide support to suppliers and internal stakeholders to aid in resolving accounts payable challenges, working directly with the AP team to seek resolution.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
8+ years of procurement experience
Successful at prioritizing work and maintaining those priorities
Ability to collaborate successfully across global teams, adapting communication and working styles to align with diverse cultural, regional, and country‑specific norms.
Leads with transparency and authenticity to build credibility and influence, aligning stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and deliver successful cross‑functional initiatives.
