Onsite:
This position requires an employee to be onsite on a full-time basis in Milford, MI and this candidate will need to be comfortable working third shift. (11pm-7am)
The Role:
The Entry-Level IT Security Attendant is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems within a high-security data center. The individual serves as a first line of defense against unauthorized access and helps maintain the integrity and safety of the organization's critical IT infrastructure. The role involves escorting and monitoring non-cleared personnel, ensuring compliance with security protocols and protecting against unauthorized access or observation of sensitive information.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Serve as an IT escort for non-cleared personnel, including contractors, maintenance teams, and visitors, within controlled access areas.
Enforce security policies to prevent unauthorized access, logically and physically, to sensitive information.
Always maintain positive control over escorted individuals and work being performed onsite.
Ensure proper screening procedures are followed before granting access.
Monitor, supervise, and document tools, materials, and equipment brought in and out of the secure areas.
Secure worksites upon completion of tasks, verifying all non-cleared personnel have existed.
Report any security incidents, lapses, or breaches in compliance to designated IT Operations and security personnel.
Provide exceptional customer service to all individuals under escort, addressing their inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously.
Conduct screening and verification of personnel entering sensitive areas.
Maintain situational awareness of facility vulnerabilities and report concerns. Maintain a high level of alertness and vigilance to identify and assess potential security risks. Report any suspicious activities or incidents promptly.
Coordinate with IT and security personnel to ensure adherence to security protocols for those entering the secured areas.
Maintain an accurate daily roster of authorized personnel requiring escorted access.
Evaluate and improve security escort procedures to enhance overall security posture.
Adhere to and enforce security policies and procedures, ensuring that all activities are in line with the organization's security standards.
Assist in hardware and cabling deployment activities
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Minimum of 1 year of IT experience and/or related IT schooling/certifications
Certifications such as CompTIA IT Fundamentals or similar demonstrating a basic IT knowledge base
Familiarity with IT hardware, networking fundamentals, and data center operations
Ability to accurately log visitor access, maintain records, and report any discrepancies or security concerns
Must strictly follow and enforce IT security protocols and access control policies
Understanding the importance of confidentiality, particularly regarding proprietary or sensitive information managed within the datacenter
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for providing clear instructions and liaising with various teams
A friendly yet professional demeanor is important for assisting visitors and providing a positive representation of the company
Ability to work collaboratively with security, facilities management, and IT teams
Must be capable of spending extended periods on foot and performing light physical tasks, such as escorting personnel over long distances within the facility
Willingness to work flexible hour 3rd Shift, including potential shifts during off-peak or emergency situations
Vigilance in monitoring and ensuring compliance with all access and safety procedures

Technical diploma or entry-level degree in IT
