To enable innovation and collaboration across our global organization, we are now looking for an IT Project Manager to join our IT & Digital organization in Budapest. In this role, you will help structure ideas, turn them into well‑defined initiatives, and lead them to successful delivery.

Major Function

As an IT Project Manager in Nilfisk’s IT & Digital organization, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering business‑critical IT and digital initiatives across regions and functions. You will manage projects from idea and business case through execution, go‑live, and hypercare, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with Nilfisk’s governance and quality standards.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, solution owners, enterprise architects, security, procurement, and vendors, and you will operate within Nilfisk’s Project & Portfolio governance framework and PID‑based project model.

 

Essential Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Execution

·        Lead IT and digital projects end‑to‑end, from initiation and PID preparation to execution, go‑live, and hypercare

·        Establish and manage scope, timeline, budget (Capex/Opex), risks, issues, and dependencies

·        Ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and decision structures within the project organization

Business & Stakeholder Management

·        Partner with business owners and solution owners to translate business needs into clear project scope and deliverables

·        Act as the primary interface between business, IT, vendors, and global stakeholders

·        Ensure stakeholder alignment and timely decision‑making throughout the project lifecycle

Governance, Compliance & Quality

·        Prepare and maintain Project Initiation Documents (PID), business cases, and supporting documentation in line with Nilfisk standards

·        Ensure adherence to IT security, GDPR, architecture, procurement, and portfolio governance requirements

·        Report project status, risks, and progress to relevant governance forums, including portfolio reviews where required

Planning, Change & Delivery Readiness

·        Coordinate planning across internal teams and external partners, including resource planning and vendor management

·        Support change management, user readiness, and handover to operations, including definition and execution of hypercare activities

 

Your New Team

You will join a globally connected and collaborative team of project managers and supporting roles within the IT organization. The team works closely with the business to develop and deliver solutions that create value for both Nilfisk and our customers.

You will be based in Budapest, Hungary, and collaborate closely with colleagues in other locations, including Copenhagen, Denmark.

Qualifications to Succeed in the Position

·        Background in IT with experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master or similar role.

·        Experience with both waterfall and Agile projects.

·        Experience with system integrations, security reviews, and data privacy. Knowledge of manufacturing operations is a plus. 

·        Great communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to talk to both software engineers and business. 

·        User-centric mindset with a passion for understanding and solving user pain points. 

·        Your colleagues experience you as a team player who is passionate about what you do and can sell your ideas. You are a natural presenter that can get your message across. 

·        You are fluent in English, both written and oral. 

·        You are expected to work from the Budapest office at least 3 days per week, with the option of working from home 2 days per week.
