The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The Desktop Engineer is a hands-on, solutions-focused technologist who builds and scales a modern, reliable, and secure end-user computing environment across a large enterprise. This role is essential to improving workforce productivity and operational resilience by standardizing device configurations, strengthening endpoint security, and delivering frictionless user experiences at scale. You will engineer platforms, automate processes, and partner closely with many teams spanning across security and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate blends deep endpoint engineering expertise with curiosity, craftsmanship, and a drive to continuously elevate the quality of IT services.

The role owner will oversee and act as the Global Process Lead (GPL) for CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM), Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS), and the Oracle Java Platform.

You’ll impact: your work directly improves device reliability, user satisfaction, security posture, and operational efficiency across the enterprise.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT (completed and verified prior to start)
• Three (3) year(s) of experience in IT end user computing or IT infrastructure environment in a private, public, government or military environment

Work location:

• This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
• This position has the possibility for remote work for candidates located more than 50-miles from to 3M Global Headquarters in St. Paul, MN. Employees located within a commutable distance to 3M Global Headquarters must work on-site at least 4 days per week.

Travel: May include up to 5% travel

Relocation: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
