IT Asset Manager

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to operationalize the IT Asset Management framework, ensuring that asset records, lifecycle events, and controls are executed consistently and accurately across regions, platforms, and asset classes.
The Global IT Asset Manager acts as the operational backbone of ITAM, turning policies, standards, and governance into reliable, auditable data and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Global Asset Lifecycle Execution

  • Execute and oversee hardware and non‑license asset lifecycle activities (onboarding, deployment, redeployment, refresh, retirement).
  • Ensure lifecycle events are accurately recorded in Flexera.
  • Support secure and compliant asset decommissioning with regional teams.

Asset Inventory & Data Quality Management

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely asset records in Flexera.
  • Monitor data quality and drive remediation with regional ITAM teams.
  • Ensure asset ownership, location, and status are consistently maintained.

Team & Regional Coordination

  • Lead and synchronize a network of regional/local ITAM technical representatives.
  • Act as the global coordination point for ITAM execution.
  • Provide operational guidance and standards interpretation to regional teams.
  • Ensure consistent application of ITAM processes across geographies.
  • Establish global standards for hardware tagging, discovery, and data entry to ensure consistency across all geographies.

Platform Management – Flexera

  • Ensure correct and consistent usage of Flexera One/FlexNet Manager for asset tracking and lifecycle management.
  • Coordinate configuration needs, integrations, and operational enhancements with internal platform teams.
  • Drive adoption and correct operational usage across regions.
  • Act as the primary operational and technical point of contact for Flexera, coordinating with Flexera support to troubleshoot platform, data, and integration issues impacting IT Asset Management operations.
  •  Validate, test, and operationalize Flexera configuration changes and platform updates, ensuring continued alignment with ITAM processes, data standards, and global operating requirements.

Reporting & Operational Insights

  • Produce operational reports and executive dashboards from Flexera, providing clear visibility into asset inventory, lifecycle status, and data quality.
  • Provide reliable asset data to ITAM leadership.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.

Technical Skills

  • IT Asset Inventory Management – Hands‑on experience maintaining asset records for hardware, software, and cloud resources.
  • Lifecycle Tracking & Execution – Practical experience managing assets from procurement to retirement.
  • Software Asset Tracking & License Support – Operational understanding of license tracking, usage monitoring, and compliance checks.
  • ITAM / CMDB Tools – Experience working with IT Asset Management and CMDB platforms to update, reconcile, and report asset data.
  • Reporting & Data Quality – Ability to generate reports, analyze discrepancies, and improve asset data accuracy.

Soft Skills

  • Operational Discipline & Attention to Detail – High accuracy in data entry, reconciliation, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork – Ability to work effectively with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Security teams.
  • Problem Identification – Proactively spotting data gaps, compliance risks, and process breakdowns.
  • Clear Communication – Ability to explain asset issues and data findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Process Adherence – Consistently following defined procedures, standards, and controls.

Knowledge

  • IT Asset Management Practices – Solid understanding of ITAM principles and lifecycle concepts.
  • IT Service Management (ITSM) – Awareness of how asset data supports Incident, Request, Change, and Configuration Management.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding Asset Processes – Knowledge of asset provisioning, recovery, and secure handling tied to employee lifecycle events.
  • Audit & Compliance Support – Understanding of how asset records support compliance reviews and audits.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, Service Desk, or IT Support roles
  • Hands‑on experience maintaining asset inventories and lifecycle records
  • Exposure to audits, license reviews, or compliance checks
  • Comfortable working in global, multi‑region environments with standardized processes

Positioning Within the ITAM Team

  • ITAM Leader: Owns strategy, governance, and executive accountability
  • Global IT Asset Manager (Hands‑On): Executes lifecycle activities, maintains data quality, and ensures operational compliance
  • ITAM Analysts / Local Asset Coordinators: Support regional or specialized execution
