DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

The ITAO role is formally documented in Manage Software Assets KOD and is mandatory for each application registered in NAR to ensure compliance with Information Security and Information Technology controls as outlined in DB’s policies.
IT Application Owners are responsible for identifying and assessing the current state technological infrastructure for gaps or potential improvements, using their knowledge of infrastructure solutions and where industry innovations are in their lifecycles.
Responsibilities
- Determining the appropriate technological solutions to balance delivery and compliance
- Identifying gaps in the current infrastructure solutions and implementing the associated improvements whilst ensuring compliance with technical roadmaps
- Improving the safety and security of IT Applications, compliance with internal and external standards and operational readiness
- Supporting the bank’s audit function during their enquiries as well as in the remediation phase of audit points and issues, in order to reduce risk
- Identifying and assessing IT Application risk and implementing the associated technology measures, where e.g. patching ore remediation is necessary
- Contributing and assisting the implementation of policies and strategies specific to IT management and Information Security
- Identifying opportunities to incorporate new technologies/approaches into best practice
Skills
- Strong understanding of the entire application lifecycle, from requirements gathering to retirement.
- Experience with different development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, DevOps) and ALM tools(e.g., Jira).
- Ability to understand technical architectures, infrastructure components (servers, databases, networks), and data flows, data models, database concepts, and data governance principles.
- Familiarity with various technologies relevant to the application (e.g., programming languages, operating systems, cloud platforms, GCP).
- Ability to analyze data to identify trends, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Familiarity with reporting tools and business intelligence concepts.
- Knowledge of common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices and understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Ability to identify and assess risks associated with the application and propose mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Understanding of ITIL principles and practices (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Service Level Management). ITIL certifications are a key asset.
- Understanding of monitoring tools and performance metrics for applications.
- Ability to oversee incident resolution and root cause analysis.
