The Systems Analyst applies project leadership and technical expertise to manage multi-departmental projects, is a technical specialist, and consultant during and after application software system implementation. Has a thorough understanding of the user's environment and helps enable the user to fully maximize administrative, ancillary, nursing, and related clinical, operational and financial systems capabilities to meet the institutional goals of quality patient care, cost containment and operational efficiency.
The Systems Analyst II leads and supports implementation and conversion plans and procedures and assists in the development and execution of training plans for all assigned user departments. Serves as IS liaison to assigned departments, owns the technical support of their systems, provides regular, concise, clear feedback and updates to customers and the IS team regarding projects, activities and needs, and partners with assigned departments to support departmental technology strategies.
The Systems Analyst II is Accountable for project planning activities including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and close out activities. Works with organization stakeholders and project team to balance competing requirements and constraints as related to scope, time, budget and quality for the projects.
Qualifications
IS Systems Analyst I:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or agile project management certification preferred.
- 2 years of clinical, business, or technology experience required
- 1 year of experience supporting IS Applications and managing technical projects required.
- 1 year of previous work experience in an acute care hospital strongly preferred.
- Specific experience with hospital administrative, clinical, and financial systems is strongly preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of application systems and tools required.
- Good understanding of project management process and tools required.
- Strong skills and abilities in system analysis, issues management, troubleshooting, training, and requirement gathering required
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical projects or systems concurrently in a highly visible and fast paced environment while exercising independent judgment in resolving problems.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems or difficulties while retaining strong and effective working relationships staying calm and objective under the stress of deadlines and obstacles.
- Strong documentation skill and experience with user training preferred
- Must be able to communicate with individuals and groups representing all levels of the organization.
- knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, MS Access databases preferred. Familiarity with one or more technology and tool sets (e.g. web based reporting, SQL, MS Access, Crystal, Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Visual Studio, XML, and HL7) preferred. Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
IS Systems Analyst II:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.\
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or agile project management certification preferred.
- At least 4 years of clinical, business, or technology experience required
- 2 years of experience supporting IS Applications and managing technical projects required.
- 1 year of previous work experience in an acute care hospital strongly preferred.
- Specific experience with hospital administrative, clinical, and financial systems is strongly preferred.
Senior IS Systems Analyst:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- At least 5 years of clinical, business, or technology experience required
- 3 years of experience supporting IS Applications and managing technical projects required.
- 2 years previous work experience in an acute care hospital strongly preferred.
- Specific experience with hospital administrative, clinical, and financial systems is strongly preferred.
