Manulife Global Information Risk Management is looking for a specialist who will conduct assurance reviews using a sample-based approach to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of IT controls and operating practices. As an IRM Standard Assurance Sr. Specialist under the IRM Standards Assurance and Risk Monitoring team at MBPS, you will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the execution of objective assessments. These assessments are conducted to provide management and audit services with confidence that risks are being appropriately identified, managed, and controlled by the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct risk management services including assessment of information and technology risks, leveraging control frameworks.
Provide segment level assurance of information risk assessment process, controls testing and conclusion validation according to Global IRM (GIRM) L2 assurance guidelines.
Assist with the evolving assurance processes and procedures standardization and continuous improvement.
Partners with other lines of defense to self-identify controls’ improvement areas and corrective action plans.
Contributes to introducing opportunities to continuously improve the standards and control assurance service maturity.
Support IRM Standard Assurance and Risk Monitoring in the planning of assurance based on an assessment of risks and controls.
Support building and developing the IRM Standard Assurance and Risk Monitoring automation processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or any related discipline.
1 – 2 years of progressive experience related to Information Risk Management, Information Security Management, or any related areas.
Working knowledge of security operations, engineering, network security concepts, and tools (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability management, IDS/IPS, NAC, cryptography, cloud security, red teaming).
Experience with information security controls, ethical hacking tools, and infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, operating systems, and on‑premises data centers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Sound understanding of information risk management best practices, technology governance, regulatory requirements, and any line‑of‑defense or risk advisory consulting experience.
Ability to analyze complex data and systems, assess software development environments (including Agile), understand business processes, identify risks, and provide practical, value‑added recommendations.
