This role spans senior individual contributor through senior leadership levels within Investment Operations. Depending on grade, the role is accountable for expert execution, people leadership, operational governance, service delivery, and transformation across one or more investment operations functions. The role ensures delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant operational outcomes while supporting client objectives, regulatory obligations, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

This role involves applying strong numerical and analytical skills. Previous practical experience in the UK financial services industry, particularly with unit-linked funds, is essential.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Own and deliver end‑to‑end operational activities across one or more functions, including:
    • Performance Reporting
    • Investment Reporting Services
    • Investment Accounting Services
    • Investment Data Services
    • Real Estate Operations
    • Alternative Asset Operations
    • Securities Lending
    • Regulatory Reporting
    • Business Solutions
    • Transfer Agency (Investor Services)
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise and/or operational leadership for complex, high‑risk, or judgment‑based processes.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance with SLAs, KPIs, client mandates, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Review, validate, and sign off key deliverables, reconciliations, reports, and exceptions prior to release.
  • Act as an escalation point for technical issues, control breaks, client queries, and operational risks; perform root cause analysis and drive sustainable resolution.
  • Interpret fund documentation, client mandates, regulatory requirements, and internal policies to ensure correct operational execution.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members (where applicable), setting clear objectives, performance expectations, and development plans.
  • Support onboarding of new clients, funds, strategies, asset classes, products, or regulatory changes, ensuring operational readiness and smooth transition into business‑as‑usual.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Client Service, Front Office, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and third‑party providers to deliver stable and scalable operations.
  • Contribute to or sponsor process improvement, automation, and transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency, control, scalability, and client experience.
  • Ensure strong operational risk management through adherence to governance frameworks, policies, and audit standards.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and due diligence activities by ensuring preparedness, timely responses, and closure of findings.
  • Prepare and present management information, operational insights, and performance metrics to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a role model for organizational values, professionalism, collaboration, and accountability.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 4–15 years of experience into buy-side Investment Operations.
  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CA, MBA Finance) preferred.
  • Relevant IOC or Investment Management qualification desirable.
  • Investment management or fund accounting qualification ideal, or otherwise qualified by significant relevant experience.
