About the Role
This role is responsible for managing the Investment Accounting function, including financial, investment, and management reporting, as well as financial analytics. The position supports management’s review of general fund investment and unit-linked investment performance in accordance with IFRS requirements.
The role will also manage the process transformation with new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the assigned reports to be submitted to regulator or Group finance (60%)
- Oversee the outsourcing quality of investment accounting performed by outsource party
- Ensure investment & unit linked accounting and reporting are in accordance with the requirements of IFRS and the AIA accounting policy
- Coordinate the timely and accurate preparation and consolidation of IFRS reporting
- Assist in system modification and make recommendation in workflow to streamline the process
- Deliver financial analytics to support management’s review on the investment and financial performance on the business
- Assist in budgeting management, including budget planning, budget monitoring
Support on finance projects (35%)
- Work with supervisor on the strategic finance projects, supporting transformation process new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Work with the team and other relevant parties (such as Human Resources, IT, other departments, etc.) to deliver the result.
- Assist in system development and perform UAT.
Other responsibilities (5%)
- Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet regulator/operational other requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
- University graduate and a member of recognized professional accounting body plus 8-10 years relevant experience
- Sound insurance accounting knowledge and experience is preferred
- Knowledge in up-to-date accounting standards
- Experience in mass data analytics
- Proven ability to address complex challenges efficiently, applying both tactical solutions and strategic thinking to drive outcomes
- Big four audit firm experience is preferred
- Familiarity with financial systems and technologies, such as SAP, Power BI, and other emerging tools is preferred
- Proficient in Excel functions
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
