We are looking for an experienced investment associate to support the investment operations of a highly specialized discretionary book of business. In this role, you will be responsible for trade execution, portfolio rebalancing, research and client service. The person that will thrive in this role will have an interest in portfolio management, markets and research. They will be highly competent, organized and possess a strong attention to detail. They will be comfortable working independently, as well as be a strong team player. If you are honest, humble, and hardworking with a desire to work on a team where going above and beyond is baseline, we want to hear from you.

What will you do? :

  • Execute trades and manage the portfolio rebalancing process of discretionary portfolios
  • Monitor discretionary portfolios for performance and strategy
  • Ensure client portfolios are always compliant with asset mixes and risk parameters
  • Support tax-efficient portfolio strategies
  • Conduct research and risk analysis to inform portfolio decisions
  • Investment administration and compliance
  • Manage ongoing payments and client cash requests
  • Coordinate overall portfolio implementation as new portfolios are constructed
  • Maintain ongoing client communication and service delivery
  • Provide investment educational support to clients
  • Proactive contact with clients

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • IR/RR license with CIRO in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years industry experience
  • CIM designation is an asset
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize, multi-task and effectively manage deadlines
  • Excellent communicator (verbal & written)
  • Comfortable working independently & as a team
  • Professional and conscientious
  • Personable, hardworking, self-starter
  • Self-assured yet coachable
  • Forward thinking and growth oriented

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures
  • Experience in the securities industry is an asset

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$37,500.00 - $50,000.00

This position includes competitive-based pay, and the overall earning potential is impacted by a variable incentive structure, earning a multiple of salary up to:

1.0x
