Job Summary: The Inventory Specialist is responsible for executing a range of responsibilities - pick list processing, product receiving, warehouse inventory, and systems management.  This role is tasked with monitoring inventory levels, the picking of materials and supplies for delivery to production. Overall, this role will work with the Supply Chain Manager and purchasing team to maintain adequate inventory supply while streamlining delivery of product to the production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Fulfill the pick list requirements with high accuracy and timeliness
  • Understand principles of serialized inventory and inventory tracking
  • Develop understanding of the manufacturing process to facilitate effective and efficient fulfillment and optimization
  • Attend walk-up counter and fulfill on demand product or supply requests 
  • Process transactions in the inventory system to maintain accurate and current inventory balances  
  • Actively monitor physical inventories to prompt re-order and/or to identify and resolve variances or stock issues
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify the root cause and correction  
  • Process daily shipments, following receiving process and inspection  
  • Appropriately distribute products and/or stock materials in their proper location
  • Physically transfer or collect products or supplies to/from internal manufacturing centers and quality control centers  
  • Maintain storeroom organization and cleanliness and operation in adherence to company standards and expectations   
  • Conduct weekly spot counts to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Directly participate in the end of year inventory count procedures and reporting
  • Create spreadsheet reporting in routine or as requested 
  • Support inventory projects as assigned by Manager  
  • Support other storeroom duties as needed  
  • Identify opportunities to improve current processes and contribute to the development of new initiatives 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through participation in cross-functional project teams

Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver time-sensitive projects on-time and on-quality
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to perform in a high paced, high precision manufacturing environment  
  • Demonstrated ability to work in computer applications and transaction processing
  • Demonstrated ability to self-direct 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Flexible and creative thinking 
  • Ability to stand, crouch, reach, and lift 50+ pounds for 6+ hours a day 

Education/Experience: 

  • Associates degree or related experience preferred.  
  • 2+ years’ experience in traditional manufacturing, preferred 
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, specifically inventory management required.  
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying and implementing structure in otherwise flexible/fluid operations.  
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to persist and succeed with cross-functional communication within scope of responsibility. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Must have independent problem-solving skills and the discipline to follow-up and follow-through until problems are resolved.  

This role subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements and as such, U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required.
