The future starts here! Ready to join NXP?
As integrated circuits (ICs) continue to shrink in size and grow in complexity, several challenges arise in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. These include an increased risk of failures, greater difficulty in detecting quality issues, and longer time required to identify the root causes of these failures. As Total Quality is a strategic priority at NXP semiconductors, this project will focus on quality control in a multi-stage manufacturing environment. The goal is to leverage data more effectively by combining a knowledge-driven and data-driven approach to enable the prediction and prevention of product failures at the edge, which should contribute to the Zero-Defect Manufacturing concept.
This project will be performed at the Quality Information Systems team, part of the Total Quality Operation department, at NXP Semiconductors in Eindhoven. The project will focus on failures related to wire bonding, a critical assembly step in semiconductor manufacturing. Several upstream and downstream manufacturing stages will be connected, as those might influence the bond quality.
Objectives:
Define a Knowledge Graph based model to integrate relevant data and knowledge in the context of product (device-level) quality.
Demonstrate how a data-driven quality prediction model can be improved by integrating knowledge-driven factors.
Research the deployability of the improved (hybrid) quality prediction model at the edge
Your Responsibilities
Writing a literature review
Building a knowledge graph based model to enable device-level quality control
Building a prediction model integrating knowledge-driven and data-driven factors
Providing recommendations on how to improve quality control and operational decision-making at the edge using the Knowledge Graph based model and the improved (hybrid) quality prediction model
What’s in it for you
A great opportunity to develop your skills (technical, soft skills, communication, etc.)
Gaining experience in a multinational and diverse environment
Possibility to become part of NXP’s Young Professional Talent Pool
Working on a real assignment which contribute to NXP’s objectives
