Role Summary
Blackstone’s International Finance team is seeking an Associate to support the delivery of end-to-end accounting close and reporting for in-scope APAC House/Fund entities. The role is focused on executing period-end close activities, reviewing reconciliations and reporting packages, and partnering with stakeholders and service providers to resolve issues and maintain strong controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute monthly close activities for assigned entities, including review of journal entries, accruals, allocations and supporting schedules.
Review balance sheet reconciliations/substantiation, investigating variances and driving timely resolution of breaks.
Prepare close and reporting packages (statutory and management), including variance analysis and clear explanations of key movements.
Responsible for key accounting processes end-to-end (e.g., intercompany, accruals, allocations, balance sheet substantiation), partnering with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Treasury and Tax etc. to resolve issues and ensure consistent execution across entities.
Coordinate with COE resources to align deliverables and review outputs in support of an on-time, high-quality close.
Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting for assigned entities, including process documentation, control execution/monitoring, issue remediation and audit readiness.
Support tax compliance activities for assigned entities (e.g., corporate income tax, withholding tax, indirect taxes and transfer pricing support), liaising with external advisors and internal stakeholders to meet filing requirements and deadlines.
Support regulatory filings and ad-hoc surveys for assigned APAC jurisdictions, ensuring submissions are accurate, well-supported and completed on schedule.
Actively participate in regional/domestic projects to enhance controls, processes and/or system efficiency.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA/CA or progress toward qualification preferred.
5+ years of relevant experience in audit, accounting or financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS / Local GAAP and strong fundamentals in financial controls.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with financial systems/ERPs is an advantage.
Strong technical accounting skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Possesses strong work ethic, sense of accountability and genuine passion for excellence.
