Job Purpose/Summary:

The Test & Evaluation Manager serves as Supernal’s embedded test representative, ensuring that ground, laboratory, flight, and certification test activities align with FAA certification requirements throughout the aircraft development lifecycle.

This role oversees the interpretation and internalization of the verification structure, test planning processes, and certification-oriented test allocations to maintain alignment between requirements, test execution, and certification evidence. Acting as the test focal point, the position ensures that instrumentation, data acquisition, test data management, and anomaly resolution processes support disciplined verification and certification readiness. In addition, the role supports certification readiness by translating test frameworks into scalable internal processes, identifying and mitigating test-related risks, and ensuring continuity between test execution and regulatory commitments.

Job Level: The role is posted at a Level 4; however, the role will be compensated commensurate with experience.

What you can do:

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Review and assess test and evaluation processes to ensure alignment with FAA certification requirements.
  • Lead the structured transfer and internalization of test planning, execution, and verification frameworks into Supernal.
  • Review and interpret test-related technical documentation, including test and evaluation master plans, verification and validation plans, test procedures, and certification reports.
  • Develop and maintain a working-level understanding of requirements-based verification structure, including laboratory, ground, flight, and certification test allocation.
  • Internalize processes for test planning, configuration control, instrumentation, data acquisition, test data reduction, and anomaly resolution.
  • Capture and translate verification and certification frameworks into Supernal internal processes, including requirements-to-test traceability and certification evidence generation workflows.
  • Support development of Supernal internal test strategies required for FAA certification activities conducted in the United States, including certification-oriented test planning and test readiness review processes.
  • Identify test-related risks impacting certification compliance or program readiness and require mitigation within delegated authority.
  • Escalate material test discrepancies or certification concerns when impacting regulatory commitments.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

What you can contribute:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, systems, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in aircraft test, evaluation, or certification programs within regulated aviation environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ground, laboratory, and flight test activities.
  • Experience supporting requirements-based verification programs, including test allocation and traceability structures.
  • Experience in test planning, execution, instrumentation setup, and data acquisition processes.
  • Working knowledge of verification and validation (V&V) frameworks within certified aircraft development programs.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting test plans, procedures, reports.
  • Familiarity with test readiness reviews and certification-oriented test planning activities.

 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to assess and interpret test and evaluation processes for certification alignment.
  • Ability to ensure traceability between requirements, test execution, and certification evidence.
  • Strong capability to analyze test data and assess verification impact on certification readiness.
  • Ability to translate external test frameworks into structured internal processes.
  • Understanding of laboratory, ground, and flight test environments within certification programs.
  • Ability to identify and escalate test-related risks affecting certification compliance.
  • Strong technical judgment and structured analytical thinking.
  • High attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices.

 

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is:
$83,000$291,000 USD
