Internal Communication Manager

Are you ready to shape the way AstraZeneca communicates internally? As a Internal Communication Manager, you'll be at the forefront of crafting and executing strategic communication plans that resonate across our organization. Your expertise will ensure that AstraZeneca's strategies, policies, and key information are effectively communicated to our teams, fostering a unified and informed workforce. Collaborate closely with senior business stakeholders, including the Country President, to maintain a high-quality omnichannel communication approach.

Accountabilities

  • Strategy and Governance: Lead the internal communications strategy and planning; define guidelines for traditional and digital channels; manage the annual rolling communications budget; ensure compliance with company values, Code of Conduct, internal procedures, and Austrian legislation; coordinate archiving.
  • Content and Messaging: Develop and refine compelling, on-brand messages and materials for Top Management and all-employee communications; prepare and update PowerPoint presentations for internal events; ensure consistency with business priorities and strategy.
  • Channels and Operations: Own local internal channels (Nucleus, Flatscreens, Workplace), including updates, planning, and performance monitoring; coordinate fixes and enhancements with IT and external vendors.
  • Programs and Campaigns: Plan and deliver internal communication programs, employee engagement initiatives, and regular SHE communication streams to strengthen culture, loyalty, and belonging.
  • Meetings and Events: Provide high-level administrative support (meeting organization, appointments, video/teleconferences, document preparation); coordinate internal meetings (Cycle Meetings, business reviews/market visits, Jour Fixe) with event support.
  • Cross-Functional Delivery: Drive the local implementation of AZ projects; partner with cross-functional teams to define and execute specific communication projects; manage accounts and stakeholder relationships

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Commercial training, e.g., HAK or HBLA
  • Matura or Bachelor of Applied Science
  • At least 3-5 years proven work experience in a similar role in a multinational matrix company and previous industry sector
  • Excellent command in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Strategic planning
  • Commercial awareness
  • Analytical business and audit reporting skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Digital and social media knowledge
  • Proficient MS Office
  • Affinity and interest in new technologies
  • Displays high levels of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated, meticulous, able to work under pressure
  • Team player and interpersonal skills to liaise with different stakeholders at different levels
  • Stress-resistant and flexible
