The base pay range for this role is estimated to be between $22-$25 /hr at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Software developer internship to learn about and contribute to software application functionality and configuration using commercial development tools and applications based on customer and / or project performance, design, and testing requirements.
This is What You Will do in This Role:
Contribute to elegant solutions for some of the most complex material handling and logistics projects in the world
Setup of professional software development environment using standard tech stack and development tools
Develop, configure, and unit test software code
Build test scripts, support functional validation tests using software emulation tools
Engage in cross-functional, Agile teams to build out features and functionality
Apply operations research concepts (flow analysis, bottleneck identification, queueing logic) to support optimizing warehouse execution workflows
Assist in translating logistics and material‑handling processes into clear software requirements and configuration inputs
Build simple analytical or simulation models to evaluate system behavior, support feature design, and validate throughput assumptions
Opportunity to travel across North America to customer sites to validate system functionality and testing
Expectations
Bring an analytical, systems‑thinking approach to understanding warehouse operations and how software drives automation
Use foundational knowledge in industrial engineering or supply‑chain optimization to structure problems and propose data‑driven improvements
Show curiosity about warehouse controls, automation logic, and optimization algorithms, bridging operations concepts with software development
Works within a team while under close developer mentorship
Proactively seeks assistance and works with peers to solve problems
Build skill level through certifications and training
Required:
Enrolled in BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or other related engineering degree
Basic knowledge in object-oriented programming concepts
Basic knowledge of at least 1 operating systems
Preferred:
Hands on experience in software development and IT
Relational database knowledge and experience
