As an intern within Eastspring Investments’ Regional Strategic Planning and M&A team, you will play a key role in supporting initiatives that drive the firm’s growth – both organically through strategic projects and inorganically via mergers and acquisitions. This position offers exposure to the full spectrum of corporate development activities, including market analysis, strategic planning, and transaction execution. You will assist in evaluating potential acquisition opportunities, conducting financial and strategic analysis, and preparing materials for senior leadership. Additionally, you will contribute to projects that enhance Eastspring’s competitive positioning across Asia, gaining insight into how asset management firms expand their footprint and capabilities in a dynamic market environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conduct research on target sectors, competitors, and market trends to identify and assess potential acquisition opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of industry benchmarking and peer analysis reports.
  • Gather and organise data for financial, operational, and legal due diligence.
  • Assist in preparing materials for senior leadership and board reviews including drafting internal memos and management presentations for internal committees.
  • Support the team in reviewing term sheets, NDAs, and other transaction documents.
  • Liaise with legal, compliance, and finance teams during deal execution.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and maintain documentation for M&A projects, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with internal policies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University graduate with specialisation in Business (Banking & Finance) or Accountancy disciplines
  • Internship experience in investment banks / consulting firms and or asset management firms would be a plus
  • High proficiency with common Microsoft PC software applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good coordination, planning and project management skills
  • Self-motivated and possesses high level of confidence in interacting with senior management and business heads
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
