About This Opportunity 

 

We are seeking a Project Management Intern for the May 2026 – December 2026 (8‑month) work term.

In this role, the intern will leverage AI technologies to identify and address project management challenges by automating and enhancing key project processes. The intern will focus on building AI-powered solutions that optimize project implementation, improve financial controls, streamline risk management, and improve stakeholder communication. By aligning AI use cases with core project management functions, the intern will contribute to improved scope management, resource forecasting, cost management, and schedule management, helping Associate Project Managers and Project Managers. This position is ideal for someone interested in AI applications within project management and is looking to gain hands-on experience in a real-world project environment.

 

Key Accountabilities   

  • Support Project Managers and Associate Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

  • Collaborate with the PMO and project teams to identify repetitive, manual, and time-consuming tasks that could benefit from AI automation or augmentation, and develop and document practical AI use cases based on business needs.

  • Analyze project management workflows and data to uncover inefficiencies, performance issues, or opportunities for AI-driven improvements.

  • Contribute to the implementation of AI and business intelligence solutions (e.g., Python scripts) to automate recurring PMO reporting tasks.

  • Prepare clear documentation and present outcomes of AI pilot initiatives, including findings, solution designs, and recommendations for broader adoption.

  • Support awareness and training efforts to drive the understanding and adoption of AI solutions within the PMO and project teams.

 Key Requirements

  • Currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Completion of the second or third year of undergraduate degree, or currently pursuing a Master’s degree.

  • Solid understanding of AI/ML principles, algorithms, frameworks, and technologies.

  • Familiarity with MS Office tools, Power Apps, and Python for business intelligence.

  • Familiarity with API integrations and low-code/no-code automation platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate) is an asset.

  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong teamwork skills and a positive, proactive attitude

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

  • The ability to work 40 hours a week for the duration of the internship is essential

  • Availability to work at least 2 days per week in the office.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Co-op student available for an 8-month term, with at least one additional quarter or semester of coursework remaining after the completion of the internship.

  • Previous co-op/internship experience is a plus.

  • Exposure to Generative AI and prompt engineering techniques.

  • Experience in process mapping and optimization.

  • Interest in operational excellence, process improvement, and business automation.

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is considered a plus.
