Position Overview
The HR Shared Services Intern will provide administrative and operational support to the HR Shared Services team. This role is designed for a student or early-career professional seeking hands-on experience in HR processes. The intern will assist with day-to-day activities across the employee lifecycle, HR service delivery, and site operations, while ensuring compliance and maintaining confidentiality. This is a support role and will not serve as the primary HR point of contact.
Key Responsibilities
HR Service Support
Assist with Tier 0/1 inquiries by preparing responses or routing tickets to the appropriate HR team member.
Help maintain site-specific HR knowledge resources (e.g., onboarding guides, HR portal updates).
Support monitoring of HR ticket queues for timely follow-up.
Employee Lifecycle Assistance
Coordinate logistics for onboarding (badging, equipment, orientation materials) under guidance from HR team.
Track completion of onboarding tasks and follow up as needed.
Assist with offboarding documentation and scheduling.
Administrative Support for HR Processes
Prepare documentation for organizational changes and ensure accuracy in HR systems (e.g., Workday).
Support communication with benefits vendors for employee requests.
Assist with payroll-related administrative tasks (e.g., data entry, issue tracking).
Culture & Engagement
Help organize site engagement activities (new-hire welcomes, events, recognition programs).
Coordinate logistics with Facilities, IT, and EHS for HR-related site needs.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in process improvement initiatives by documenting workflows and suggesting enhancements.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred:
Familiarity with HR systems (Workday is a plus).
Strong communication and customer service orientation.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
