Intern, Credit Risk Management

London, Ontario Full time

The successful candidate will support the Direct Lending Credit Risk team, which is accountable to the Manager, Credit Risk Management and the VP, Credit – Direct Lending & Auto.

The intern will learn and support multiple aspects of the end-to-end credit risk management process including loan origination strategies, portfolio management and performance monitoring, loss mitigation toolkits, and collections strategies.

During your internship you will:

  • Provide support on preparing and interpreting data from multiple sources for use in downstream processes (management presentations, strategies, reports, dashboards, etc.)
  • Modernize, streamline, and automate key risk management reports and dashboards.
  • Maintain and improve documentation on risk management governance, processes and procedures.
  • Complete a project-based assignment with an actionable business use-case.

Who we are looking for:

  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in business terms to a diverse audience.
  • Solid programming skills (using SQL, SAS, R, or Python) to analyze, transform, and mine large datasets.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, AWS Quicksight) is an asset.
