POSITION SUMMARY

Location: Foster City, in-office | Duration: 3 months | Department: Clinical Development

Mirum’s summer internship provides each intern an opportunity, over the course of 10-12 weeks and will contribute to ongoing clinical programs and strategic evidence generation supporting Mirum’s next-generation therapies in rare diseases. Mirum fosters a strong, in-person culture, and interns will have a valuable opportunity to learn through day-to-day in-person collaboration, building organic connections, gaining real-time exposure to decision-making, and accelerating learning in a highly engaged environment. This short-term internship.

The selected intern will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Clinical Operations, Medical, Regulatory, and Biostatistics to deliver literature reviews, data analysis and process improvement, and evidence generation activities that support data interpretation, publication planning, and trial conduct.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct targeted literature and evidence reviews
  • Support the team in ongoing clinical development activities like trial design, endpoint evaluation etc
  • Support data review activities
  • Support the team in new indication planning
  • Support poster and abstract preparation for scientific congresses

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Opportunity:

  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week (40 hrs/wk) internship between May and August
  • Be able to work at the Foster City, California site for the duration of the internship

Education/Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (PhD, PharmD, MSc, MPH, MBA) with a focus in life sciences, medicine, public health, or a related field.
  • Interest in Clinical Development and willing to understand how clinical trials are conducted
  • Demonstrated analytical rigor and ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including scientific writing.
  • Comfortable working closely with your Mentor and independently in a cross-cultural, matrix environment.
  • Highly motivated to learn and grow!

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic understanding of clinical trial phases, clinical trial methodologies,
  • GCP certificate is preferred
  • Prior experience with conducting literature reviews
  • Familiarity with clinical data visualization, data tabulation (e.g., R, Excel), or abstract preparation workflows
