Develops and delivers technical training, ensures compliance, and supports supervisors/managers with training needs. Investigates technical issues, reviews SOPs and equipment, and recommends improvements to operations. Additionally, maintains training records and provides technical presentations and communications to leadership, employees, and customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Consult with and/or assist supervisors with all technical training concerns and conditions.            
  • Conduct needs analysis, support the design of training programs, implement programs, and support ROI determination.                               
  • Develop and perform all initial and compliance-related technical training for new and current employees.                                         
  • Perform investigations and inspections to manage and improve the technical environment at PNG.                                      
  • Research applicability and viability of SOPs, JPs, and all technical related procedures and processes; recommend changes as needed.                                          
  • Research new or changing technical operations related tools, equipment, and personal protection equipment (PPE).                               
  • Analyze technical operations trends and recommend new practices, training, and/or equipment to improve efficiency.                                    
  • Maintain and update training support and/or contractor database, as well as employee training completions.                                  
  • Provide presentations to PNG leadership, employees, and customers; create visual displays as needed.                                   
  • Review and/or develop weekly employee communications addressing technical topics.                     
  • Research and maintain awareness of industry trends in technical changes for use and implementation at PNG.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of SOPs, gas industry, and PNG operations practices and procedures, as well as pertinent PNG policies, procedures, and standards.                                    
  • Knowledge of software applications such as Office Suite, Riskmaster, LMS, JSSO, SAP, Ventyx, Mobile Map, ESRI/Utilisphere, Service Line Data Sheets (SLDS), ROARS.
  • Solid problem solving skills as well as interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.                                        

                            

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years gas operations work experience preferred.                            
  • Experience with gas industry in general and operations practices preferred.                       
  • Demonstrated experience or skills in training both in person and virtually.                          
  • Skilled writing ability for training program development.                                                       
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or business required.                           
  • Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred education.      

                           

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive PNG Company Vehicles. Commercial driver license desirable.
  • Background in safety or emergency services desirable.  

                             

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

  • Working conditions include approximately 25-50% travel to work sites of PNG (and travel beyond Pittsburgh representing PNG).                 
  • Perform medium work- exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.                                 
  • Physical demands include the ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; able to drive PNG vehicles.                                         
  • Operate standard office equipment, ability to drive heavy equipment when required, handle tools.
