Job Summary: You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist in the Cyber Engineering Department of NSWC PHILA DIV.

Major Duties:

  • You will act as a senior scientist/engineer in a technical organization performing work requiring application of advanced scientific or engineering theories and techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices.
  • You will apply engineering and scientific theories and principles involving design, construction and operation of computer/digital technology-based systems.
  • You will perform software development and support toward the goal of a secure Information Technology (IT) system and to integrate devices into a distributed yet secure ship system.
  • You will develop, design, test, evaluate and maintain computer/digital technology-based hardware, and software-based systems in an integrated manner, to insure systems engineering.
  • You will research into technological areas related to engineering of hardware and software solutions and analyze system specific detail requirements and conceptual design of a total system.
  • You will be responsible for the design and development of the Landing Dock Platform (LDP) machinery control systems throughout the full software development lifecycle that support the technology area of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical controls.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating technical leadership in the strategic planning, full lifecycle management (SDLC), and delivery of complex software-intensive programs; managing real-time machinery control systems, encompassing the leadership of cross-functional teams through requirements analysis, new development, and in-service sustainment using modern Agile and DevSecOps methodologies; and managing complex system integration across software, hardware, and external vendor interfaces while successfully implementing Risk Management Framework (RMF) cybersecurity controls for embedded environments.
