Job Summary: You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist in the Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department, Simulation Applications and Architecture Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Major Duties:

  • You will assist the Division Head in planning and managing division assets including personnel, processes, simulation assets, facilities, financial planning, and resource management in support of ground test and flight training applications.
  • You will design, develop and maintain simulation products, tools, data analysis software, and required interface support to meet major program milestones.
  • You will provide technical and programmatic advice to the Battlespace Division Head, and advise/mentor developmental employees on technical and career matters to identify training needs.
  • You will identify and communicate with potential customers to meet product delivery requirements with respect to schedule and capabilities.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12/13) grade level or pay band (DP-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Assisting leadership in the planning and management of assets to include personnel, processes, materiel, facilities, financial planning, and/or resource management; (2) Serving as a technical expert in the areas of software engineering and software architecture to include the work of design, development, and maintenance of software systems of systems for use in test or training applications with a specific focus on data analysis; (3) Providing technical and programmatic advice to leadership as well as mentoring developmental employees on technical and career matters to identify training needs; (4) Directing major projects or programs and being responsible for major system developments or the direction of technology-based research, which has the highest significance to the agency's needs; and (5) Aligning the planning of resources to accomplish major blocks of engineering endeavors which may involve the expenditure of major portions of the nation's industrial base and long range commitments of agency dollar allocations.
