What you will be doing

We have an exciting opportunity for an Insurable Risk Manager to join the Group Insurance Department.

You will support the Head of Group Insurance by maintaining the Group's insurance programmes and providing risk and insurance-related advice, guidance and training across all businesses within the Rolls-Royce Group.

Please note that the role is on a full-time basis, although a part-time working week basis would be considered. The role is based in Derby however the team generally operates in a flexible working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Mitigate the insurable and uninsurable risks of the company by providing insurance advice on commercial contracts and other business activities.

  • Delivering insurance training for the business.

  • Report and provide regular feedback to the Head of Group Insurance and wider team on significant issues affecting the Group.

  • Partner with external service providers including Insurers and Brokers in order to maintain day-to-day operational excellence.

  • Develop departmental processes to deliver an improved internal customer experience.

  • Assist with the renewal of the Group's insurance programmes including the interpretation, analysis and validation of renewal data.

  • Manage the Insurance Department’s external service provider contracts.

Who we’re looking for

  • You will have the ability to work using your own initiative and can deal with ambiguity. The ability to advise and communicate effectively on complex issues and provide concise written reports is a pre-requisite.

  • Experience across a variety of business roles and an understanding of the different Rolls-Royce business sectors would be an advantage.                                

  • Experience of contract drafting and/or contract management with customers and/or suppliers.                   

  • Prior insurance experience is not necessary; however, you will have the ability to learn a new discipline and apply this to the Rolls-Royce business.

  • The ability to analyse and problem solve using data.

  • Confidence in verbal communication and explaining complex issues inside and outside of the organisation and influencing skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • MS Office or equivalent working skills.
