Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be assessed based on evidence of teaching effectiveness, education, relevance of education and experience in teaching Japanese as a second language, and service to applicants' discipline and institution. Successful candidates will demonstrate the potential for teaching excellence, academic service, sustained intellectual contributions, and will have native or near native Japanese language skills. ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES: Foreign language teaching, second language acquisition, Japanese language and culture, Japanese literature or other related disciplines are preferred. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience and effectiveness in teaching Japanese as a second language to undergraduate students. Experience with teaching languages at a service academy preferred. Candidate must have no less than three years of proven experience as a Japanese instructor at the university level. Applicants should be willing and able to serve as an escort for cadet overseas summer language immersion programs.
