This role is a key contributor to the success of Bupa Campus, applying deep instructional design expertise to develop learning solutions that enable employee growth, accelerate capability development, and drive business performance.

The Instructional Designer will create blended learning solutions for internal audiences across various delivery formats including in-person, digital, and virtual classroom-based learning.

The ideal candidate will use instructional design principles to ensure engaging, measurable, and business-relevant learning experiences. Programmes will be designed using both internal methodologies and relevant external models and frameworks, with audiences spanning from individual contributors to senior leaders. Delivery will be managed through full-time internal facilitators and internal faculty members drawn from across the business. This role works closely with the wider content team and Campus Learning Business Partners to ensure local relevance, cultural consideration, and strong alignment to business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop instructional content and learning programmes aligned with business goals and strategic learning objectives.
  • Design both digital and instructor-led content to suit multiple delivery modes and global audiences.
  • Translate complex business topics into engaging, learner-centric learning interventions.
  • Consult and partner with subject matter experts, faculty, and business leaders to co-create content.
  • Use relevant internal methodologies and external learning models for content development.
  • Adapt programmes to diverse global audiences and integrate cultural relevance.
  • Contribute to quality assurance reviews across instructional design team outputs.
  • Implement multi-level evaluation strategies, including business impact and ROI.
  • Continuously improve learning content using feedback and business insights.
  • Collaborate with Campus Learning Business Partners to align solutions to business needs.
  • Translate complex business topics into engaging learning interventions.
  • Use of LXP content curation, authoring tools, and educational technologies as part of the toolkit.
  • Act as a design authority and ensure consistency in instructional standards across programmes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in designing blended learning programmes for large, global organisations.
  • Strong expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and learning sciences.
  • Track record of delivering high-impact learning solutions aligned to business strategy.
  • Experience designing content for audiences ranging from individual contributors to senior leaders.
  • Ability to produce measurable learning outcomes that support business effectiveness.
  • Digital and technology savvy, with experience using LXPs, authoring tools, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Curious, creative, and committed to staying ahead of learning trends.
  • Experience working in matrixed, multicultural environments with distributed teams.
  • Ability to consult on learning strategy and influence programme design decisions.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into effective learning interventions.
  • Ability to produce learning solutions which enable to learner effectiveness to both understand and implement key learning points.
  • Understanding and application of learning/instructional design frameworks, digital learning and distance learning pedagogy and principles, and/or pedagogical or adult learning theory.
