DIVISION: Academic
UNIT: DiMenna-Nyselius Library
BASIC FUNCTION: Provides information literacy instruction to first-year composition classes.
UNUSUAL WORK CONDITIONS: Physical requirements: mobility; must be able to lift materials off shelf. Requires some evening hours.
EDUCATION: Graduate degree in Library & Information Science (MLS or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited program.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated experience using varied techniques to engage learners. Prior experience providing instruction in an academic setting highly desirable. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

REPORTS TO: Associate Teaching & Learning Coordinator
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides information literacy instruction to first-year composition classes. This includes:
leading instruction sessions in the library instruction lab,
communicating with assigned faculty to confirm scheduling and tailor lessons,
participating in planning and evaluation meetings to review lessons and identify improvements,
developing and maintaining knowledge of Library and University resources,
collaborating with teaching librarians.
Performs such other duties, responsibilities, and activities as required by supervisor and as departmental/University needs indicate.
