Position Summary
National University is seeking a visionary, growth-oriented leader to serve as Director of Operations for its Central Valley campuses. This pivotal role oversees operations in Fresno and Porterville and drives strategic regional expansion efforts across all NU campus locations through creation and implementation of aligned Center Director roles/responsibilities, training creation and delivery, and through sustained leadership support related operational impacts and community engagement.
The Director will lead dual-campus operations, serve as the University’s regional representative, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align academic offerings with workforce and community needs. Key responsibilities include fostering student engagement, driving enrollment growth, and ensuring sustainable, high-impact program delivery.
In addition to operational leadership, the Director will design and implement cross-functional training and development programs for Enrollment, Faculty, Workforce & Community Education teams, and Campus Center Directors. Through these initiatives, the Director will cultivate a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and measurable results tied to student success, operational efficiency, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Essential Functions:
- Dual-Campus Leadership: Provide direct leadership for the Fresno Campus while expanding oversight to the Porterville College Campus, ensuring both campuses share a unified vision, operational alignment, and consistent best practices.
- Strategic Growth: Develop and implement a roadmap for regional expansion for all campuses and support campus center directors on implementation, with a focus on student engagement, enrollment growth, and sustainable program delivery.
- Training & Development: Develop and lead structured training programs for Enrollment, Faculty, and Workforce & Community Education (WCE) teams to foster collaboration, improve alignment, and ensure academic offerings meet student and workforce demands. Develop, facilitate and support training program for all center directors inclusive of campus programming, community partnership development and events, and campus KPI leadership.
- Community Partnerships: Build and expand relationships with local employers, school districts, civic leaders, community-based organizations, and industry associations to strengthen pipelines and expand opportunities for students.
- Policy & Process Development: Create and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures that standardize operations, support cohort development, and serve as training resources for new staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Leadership Development: Mentor the Associate Director of Porterville to strengthen leadership capacity, support succession planning, and ensure continuity of excellence across the region. Mentor Campus Center Directors to ensure alignment between all center directors related to daily operational activities, KPI management and reporting, campus events, community events and engagement and expansion of enrollment support and campus student population.
- Representation: Represent the AVP–Campus Operations as needed at Central Valley regional events, ensuring National University maintains a visible, respected presence across educational, civic, and workforce communities.
- Best Practices & Knowledge Sharing: Develop, document, and share effective strategies for scaling cohorts, building partnerships, and growing new regional opportunities.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Master’s preferred in Education, Business Administration, or related field.
- Significant leadership experience in higher education, regional operations, or multi-site management.
- Proven track record of driving enrollment growth, strengthening community partnerships, and implementing successful academic or workforce programs.
- Strong interpersonal, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communities.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, develop, and inspire staff toward shared goals.

- Strong ability to deliver and execute projects and meet required deadlines.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency.
